Grande conférence du 4 Juin en collaboration avec la CCIFJ : « Digital Media, a way towards Women’s Empowerment? »

Digital Media, a way towards Women’s Empowerment?

Digital Media - internet, mail, Facebook, Twitter, computer games…- is a new communication tool ignoring the traditional gap between nations, hierarchy and genders. The younger generation, including young women, is called “Digital Native”, which means that young people are “native speakers” of the digital language of computers, video games and the Internet, and thus break the traditional communication codes and ways of expressing themselves. Could Digital Media be a tool for Women to increase their share of voice and break the glass ceiling?

The conference on Thursday June 4th will focus on this question and highlight the multitude of ways Digital Media has changed Women’s life, discussing everything from communication to leadership.

Within this conference organized jointly by Femmes Actives Japon (FAJ Association) and the Women in Business Committee, we will try to understand how Women are currently using Digital Media in their life, analyzing the present situation in Japan, in France and other countries, and comparing with how classic media expressed women’s life in the past. After presenting a Japanese woman’s success story through Digital Media, our speakers will debate about the various challenges new media are facing to empower Women in our contemporary societies.
